Jomtien's most visible landmark is the 56-story Pattaya Park tower, part of the Pattaya Park entertainment complex which also features a water park, roller coaster, monorail and children's activities. This is a short walk from the house. This may soon be overshadowed by the proposed 91-floor Ocean 1 Tower which is due to start construction soon. It will be the tallest building in Thailand and one of the tallest residential buildings in the world. The Jomtien district is already home to one of the largest resorts in Asia, the 4000+ room Ambassador City Jomtien.

In 2005, more than 35,000 hotel rooms were available in Pattaya. Pattaya has seen a large increase in family tourism in recent years, thanks to efforts to present a more wholesome image. Pattaya is an especially popular vacation destination for families from Europe. Pattaya also has a large international expatriate population and as such many services meet international standards. There are hundreds of restaurants of all types of cuisines, many dozen within walking distance of the villa. Try Bruno's, Indian by Nature, Pan Pan, Manhattan Steak House, Mata Hari, to name just a few.

Most sections of the beach are covered by rented deckchairs run by friendly local vendors during daylight hours, who will serve ice cold drinks, hot tea, fruit shakes, hot and cold food to order, cold towels, you name it. It is also possible to buy a huge array of items from itinerant independent vendors who don't give you the hard sell but simply wander past from time to time. They sell ice cream, doughnuts, towels, bedspreads, watches, wooden toys, Hill-tribe handicrafts, international and local newspapers, fresh fruit.

A short drive away are numerous tourist attractions such as go-cart racing, the elaborate wooden temple known as Sanctuary of Truth, A model village Mini Siam, and a true life Elephant Village where retired elephants live out their lives, plus and different theme parks and zoos such as The Million Years Stone Park , Sri Racha Tiger Zoo, Pattaya Crocodile Farm, Funny Land Amusement Park, Siriporn Orchid Farm, Underwater World Pattaya (world class aquarium), The Alankarn cultural show, Sriracha Tiger Zoo, Bottle Art Museum, Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum and many more.

Many foreign tourists come to Pattaya for dental and medical care, for first class treatment at reasonable prices. Large hospitals in the area include Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, Pattaya International Hospital, Banglamung Hospital, and Pattaya Memorial Hospital.


Although the main nightlife scene is concentrated in Pattaya itself, there are a few nightclubs and bars within walking distance but tend to be of a more subdued nature. But a five minute baht bus ride takes you right to world famous Walking Street and Pattayaland, one of the world's largest red-light districts, which has to be seen to be believed. Party to your heart's content till 5 in the morning. Then return to peace and tranquility of the Villa residence on the beach.
